Please submit a resume, cover letter, and list of references by August 22, 2008 to be considered for the position of Organizer in our Advocacy Department.

A successful candidate will be responsible for mobilizing and educating CBC members and the bicycle community to advance a pro-bike agenda. They will also assist advocacy staff in educating local leaders about the benefits of bicycling and work to secure the passage of laws and policies in the Puget Sound region, such as Complete Streets.

An understanding of transportation and land use policy is required. Campaign or other organizing experience is a necessity.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maintain list of CBC advocacy volunteers
  • Train volunteers with relevant skills
  • Mobilize volunteers for internal projects and external advocacy (phone canvasses, LTE campaigns, etc)
  • Assist with major CBC events as needed
  • Address public meetings
  • Create content for advocacy alerts and web pages
  • Assist with outreach activities of the Club with related organizations

Skills

  • Basic understanding of HTML and WYSIWYG web tools
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to assist with research projects
  • Energetic and personable affect with volunteers and allies
